How Many Sessions will I Need?
How many sessions you need vary. Generally 10-20 regularly scheduled sessions, then less often for tune-up / maintenance, depending on the self-care and emotional regulation strategies you are engaged in and your goals. For those with severe trauma, autism, severe migraines, traumatic brain injuries, dementia, and strokes, more session may be needed to maximize highest brain functioning. Panic attacks are the easiest to regulate and can take less than 10 sessions if that is the target goal. For those coming to maximize high functioning of their brain for school, creativity, and work performance reasons, and are healthy, less sessions will be needed. Many find that neurofeedback is very relaxing, and sleep and other aspects of life flow easier. Once an individual's training frequency is identified, complete during the beginning sessions, tune ups are easy and most clients describe them as feeling good "like going to a spa for the brain." Plus, we're fun to talk to, we have lots of educational, inspiring, and entertaining videos, and if you are interested in coupling your neurofeedback sessions with personal growth - you're coming to the right place.
Does Neurofeedback shock my brain?
No, our system is a passive system. Your brain will receive three forms of feedback: auditory, visual, and tactile. Your brain will learn to self-regulate itself by responding to these feedback sources. When we are finding the frequency that works for your brain, we are discovering what is the frequency of the feedback being presented, such as how much the screen fluctuates in size. Some clients need more stimulation, other clients need less. We engage in a thorough assessment of day to day symptoms to get a good starting frequency, then make adjustments based on what you are experiencing and communicating to us.
